Kate Young provides speech therapy for children in Bend, Oregon and has been working with children for over 25 years. She is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association and is licensed by the Oregon State Board of Examiners. 

Often, language development delays need only a therapeutic “jump-start” to get back on track. Kate’s dynamic approach to speech therapy aims to get that “jump-start” as quickly as possible, utilizing a variety of activities, and involving the parent(s) in carry-over activities. Approaches include structured play, activity-based exercises and cutting edge assistive technology including the Apple iPad. As needed, Kate develops tools, specific to each client, to facilitate progress between sessions.

Kate is inspired as children develop their ability to speak their minds, ask questions about the world around them, interact with their peers, and find ease and happiness in their relationships. The dance between communication abilities and its manifestation in behaviors is a driving focus for Kate’s practice.
